I remember when I shot my first wedding, I was a nervous wreck! I had only been to weddings as a child, I never fully understood the magnitude of this one day and here I was hired to capture it all. I tried to decline but they insisted I was the person for the job.
Going back I would defiantly do some things differently, but I wouldn’t say NO. That day changed my life. Here I was in a church watching two people make lifetime promises to each other in front of their friends and family, it was one of the most amazing things I had ever saw.
Weddings are hectic… I have seen the good, bad, and the ugly! But there are some moments you just cannot deny. Here are few moments that make your wedding day the BEST DAY EVER!
The Emotional Groom
All day long he walks around like wedding day is no big deal! Then when everyone stands up to look at the bride walk down the aisle, I turn and watch him. The emotion on his face is always priceless. A bride knows she looks stunning on her big day and that is evident in every picture. But the one that will really blow your mind is the one that reminds you how beautiful your groom thought you looked when he first laid eyes on you.
The time out picture
You say I do! You hurry back down the aisle and your coordinators and photographers whisk you away from the crowd. In those few seconds those rights after you say I do is when the bride and groom are the most natural and show the most genuine love and excitement! You are finally married!
Something about dancing with your parents always gets me chocked up. The person that has loved you the longest is holding you in their arms letting you know how proud you make them. Gets me every single time!
Bridal Tip: Make a list for your photographer of some of your must have shoots. I have seen this list a thousand times; I know your must have shots
I am getting married!
I got engaged to the love of my life and my partner in crime. You guys have seen me drag this man from wedding to wedding making him step up his grown man wardrobe ;-)! The clothing was a bonus for me, but his help has been incredible and he has helped me grow Always Images into much more than what I had first dreamed it would be.
He proposed with the Photo Booth!
He planned a family Bar B Que and set up the photo booth. He asked me to take some pictures with him in the booth, the print said “Will you marry me?” and then he got down on one knee and BAM! Just call me the MRS.
I never thought that I would actually be getting married. And now, as a bride to be I have totally different perspective of the wedding day experience.
What is to come?
Over the next few months I promise to write more about my journey and experience as a wedding photographer. My tips and pointers as a photographer AND bride to be!
So to all my future brides… Happy Planning! I am right there with you on this brand new journey and I am here to help anyway possible! #WeAreGettingMarried

And so she decided to start living the life she'd imagined...
Justin FINALLY proposed to Kaylen in front of family and friends on Christmas Eve (I have known Justin for 10 years and I was just sooooo proud!)...
I am thrilled to be shooting their wedding at the Mellwood Art Center this summer! They just so happen to be Aundre and I "Best Couple." We love playing cards, drinking wine and watching the Louisville games!
It was hard to take a 'serious' picture of these two with all the laughing that was going on but their engagement session was a big hit!
I asked Kaelyn a couple questions about what is to come...
What do you look forward to most on your wedding day?
"Seeing Justin's reaction as I am walking down the aisle! Also, the moment they say, "I now pronounce you husband and wife" we kiss, and everyone cheers!"
Kaelyn, what do you love most about Justin?
What I love most about Justin is that he is so caring and kindhearted. We've both grown so much to get to this point. He has such a big heart for me and our children. I couldn't as for a better communicator, lover fighter, protector, or most of all best friend.
